Best Travel Tips and Accessories

Traveling scales, a compact and practical tool often overlooked in the flurry of packing, can be a game-changer for any globetrotter. These portable devices cater to the meticulous and savvy traveler, offering a simple yet invaluable solution to avoid unexpected baggage fees and the dreaded shuffle of belongings at the airport check-in counter.

With stringent airline regulations on weight limits for luggage, a traveling scale becomes a trusted ally. This small, lightweight gadget empowers travelers to accurately weigh their bags before departure, ensuring compliance with airline restrictions. It grants peace of mind and saves both time and money by eliminating the last-minute panic of excess baggage.

Beyond the airport, these scales offer convenience during trips, allowing for easy monitoring of purchases and souvenirs to prevent over-packing before the return journey. Their simplicity and accuracy are especially beneficial for those exploring remote destinations where finding a scale might prove challenging.

The convenience and practicality of traveling scales make them a must-have for the discerning traveler, serving as a reliable companion for hassle-free journeys. Compact, easy to use, and a savior in avoiding extra fees, these unassuming devices prove that sometimes, the smallest gadgets make the biggest difference in the travel experience.

San Diego Before Lunch

Ah, San Diego! My stomping ground for two whole decades. A place where my aviation dreams took off, where love found me, and where my little rocket, Landon, made his debut. It's not just a city; it's a constellation of great food spots and hangouts.

Okay, I get it. Everyone raves about the Gas Lamp. It's like the cool kid in town – fab for food, club-hopping, and bar-hopping. Watching the Pads play is a blast, especially from the Marriott hotel's rooftop. And Seaport Village? A tourist magnet, no doubt. But let's dive into the underrated gems of San Diego.

Imagine you've got a day to eat and explore within city limits. First stop: breakfast at Fig Tree Cafe in Liberty Station. Picture this: old Naval Training Center turned entertainment hub (yes, Top Gun was filmed here). Now, the breakfast sushi at Fig Tree isn't raw fish and seaweed – it's rice, eggs, bacon, and fig jam, and it's a taste explosion!

Post-breakfast bliss, a quick drive to Balboa Park beats a stroll around Liberty Station. It's our family favorite. The kiddos dig the museums (aviation is their jam) and have a weird obsession with the ponds – one even took a dive! And hey, the zoo is practically part of the park, so why not wander from one to the other?

Next pit stop: Mt. Soledad in La Jolla. For the best panoramic views in town (trust me), this spot is it. Plus, it's a veteran's memorial. Short but sweet, you get a 360-degree city-ocean visual feast. It's my personal slice of San Diego heaven.

Next we’ll get to lunch, after lunch, and our favorite spot in San Diego for dinner.

Health on the Go

December can be a busy and stressful time for many people. Here are some ways to destress and make the most of the holiday season:

 1. Practice self-care: Take time for yourself by engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. This could include reading a book, taking a warm bath, going for a walk in nature, or practicing mindfulness and meditation.

 2. Prioritize and plan: Create a to-do list and prioritize your tasks. Break them down into smaller, manageable steps to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Planning ahead can help you stay organized and reduce stress.

 3. Set boundaries: Learn to say no to additional commitments that may add more stress to your schedule. It's important to prioritize your own well-being and not overextend yourself.

 4. Stay active: Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and boost your mood. Find activities that you enjoy, whether it's going for a run, practicing yoga, or dancing. Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day.

 5. Connect with loved ones: Spend quality time with family and friends. Plan activities together, such as game nights, movie marathons, or holiday baking. Connecting with loved ones can help you relax and enjoy the holiday season.

 6. Practice gratitude: Take time each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for. This can help shift your focus to the positive aspects of your life and reduce stress.

 7. Get enough sleep: Adequate sleep is crucial for managing stress. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Establish a bedtime routine that promotes relaxation, such as reading a book or taking a warm bath before bed.

Remember, everyone's stressors and coping mechanisms are different. Find what works best for you and make self-care a priority during the December month.
