Travel Insurance-Is it worth it?

Ah, the enigmatic world of travel insurance! It's like the safety net that says, "Don't worry, I've got your back... and your suitcase too, just in case it decides to have a wild adventure without you!"

Imagine travel insurance as your very own guardian angel with a sense of humor, ready to shield you from the chaos that can sometimes befall a trip. It's like having a best friend who whispers, "Hey, I've got you covered if your luggage decides to take a spontaneous vacation to Timbuktu while you're heading to Tahiti."

It's a bit like buying an umbrella on a sunny day—just in case the weather forecast suddenly turns as unpredictable as your uncle's dance moves at a family wedding. Because let's face it, life has a knack for surprising us when we least expect it, and travel insurance is there to say, "I know life can be as unpredictable as trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions. But fear not, I'm here to make it less like a game of chance."

So, is travel insurance worth it? Well, it's the safety net that turns potential travel disasters into mere anecdotes for cocktail parties. Just don't be surprised if, after purchasing it, your trip goes as smoothly as a penguin on an ice slide—because that's the funny thing about being prepared for the worst; the best tends to happen instead!

Spain-Final Episode

The rollercoaster ride from LHR to SFO in business class—ten hours of luxury, nerves, and a gripping movie marathon because, let's be honest, sleep was avoiding me like I avoid balut. If you don’t know what that is, look it up.

Leaving a friend in another country without a dime? It's like the plot twist in a movie where you know they’ll find a way out, except this was real life and Brandon’s resourcefulness rivaled MacGyver's.

The flight itself? Smooth as butter on a hot skillet. I landed and immediately dialed my work's operations room like a superhero in pursuit of answers. Lo and behold, Brandon was airborne and en route to LAX. Crisis averted! But hold your applause, because the whereabouts of Ryan and Peter still resembled a mystery plot thicker than grandma's secret stew.

In the whirlwind of non-rev life, information arrives fashionably late, like the last guest at a party. "Oh yeah, they arrived two days ago," said the ops agent, as casually as if she were commenting on the weather. Classic non-rev world, where time and plans dance to a beat of their own.

With a couple of days off, I decided to surprise my mom, dad was in middle east I believe, up north in Sacramento. Mom's homemade lasagna awaited me like a prize at the end of a chaotic treasure hunt. Devoured it like it was the last dish on Earth, then collapsed into bed for a snooze marathon that could compete with any hibernating bear.

Ah, that trip! It was a whirlwind of chaos, comedy, and a sprinkle of heart-stopping moments that'll be etched in my memory forever. Because really, what's life without a dash of unpredictability and a pinch of lasagna-induced dreams?

Health on the Go

In December, it's important to focus on maintaining good health amidst the holiday season. Here are a few health tips to consider:

1. Prioritize sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to support your immune system, mood, and overall well-being. Maybe download an app that analyzes your sleep to understand how you are sleeping each night and how to make little improvements to increase your REM and deep sleep!

2. Stay active: Even though it's colder outside, find ways to stay active, such as indoor workouts, dance classes, or brisk walks. Regular exercise in as little as 10 min increments helps boost your energy levels and reduce stress! The activity you do in a 24 hr period all adds up! So don't think you need to do an hour all at once. Break it into 10-15 min focused activity.

3. Eat a balanced diet: Despite the tempting holiday treats, try to maintain a balanced diet (see the last 2 newsletters!). Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, LEAN PROTEINS, and whole grains. Enjoy holiday treats in moderation.

4. Manage stress: The holiday season can be stressful. Practice stress management techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or engaging in activities you enjoy. Take 5-10 mins of each day to reconnect to your body. You will decrease your stress and increase your productivity!

5. Stay hydrated: Remember to drink enough water throughout the day to stay hydrated. Limit sugary beverages and alcohol, as they can dehydrate you. Golden rule is half to full body weight in ounces of water each day.

6. Practice good hand hygiene: With cold and flu season in full swing, wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This helps prevent the spread of germs.

7. Take care of your mental health: Reach out to loved ones, practice self-care, EXERCISE and seek support if needed. If you're feeling overwhelmed or struggling, don't hesitate to talk to a healthcare professional. Professionals are a great resource for tools that we can use to increase our mental health.

Remember, small lifestyle choices can make a big difference in maintaining your health during December!
