1) Eat a savory breakfast!

💪🏻Many people eat cereal with milk or buttered white toast with jam paired with a tall glass of orange juice for breakfast. These items are far from ideal in terms of nutrition and carry with them the amount of carbohydrates to run a 10k! In addition, that kind of overly sugary meal encourages insulin secretion, which we should make our goal to avoid in 2024…especially in the morning.

🍗Instead, opt for a savory breakfast that is high in protein. Eating protein in the morning promotes the production of dopamine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates the mind and kick-starts motivation. In addition to making you feel more motivated and alert, consuming protein at breakfast can help you feel full longer and reduce snacking later in the morning. So many wins!

🥚Eggs are the perfect solution because they contain roughly 6 grams of a high quality protein per egg and are rich in vitamins and minerals. But there are many protein sources to choose from! 

💪🏻An example of a plant-based protein breakfast could be almond milk yogurt with chia seeds and/or hemp seeds and nuts.
