Girls, whose mother is active, are FAR more likely to join team sports as children and be comfortable working out in a gym setting as adults.

Research suggests that there is a positive correlation between a mother's physical activity level and her daughter's participation in sports or physical activity. Several studies have shown that when mothers engage in regular physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle, their daughters are more likely to follow suit.

For example, a study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health found that girls aged 9-13 were more likely to engage in physical activity if their mothers were physically active. Another study published in the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology found a positive association between maternal physical activity and the physical activity levels of adolescent girls.

These findings highlight the influential role that mothers can play in shaping their daughters' attitudes towards physical activity and sports. By being active themselves and encouraging their daughters to participate in sports or physical activities, mothers can help foster a lifelong interest in fitness and well-being.

Mothers can have a significant influence on their children's fitness habits AND overall health. As primary caregivers, mothers play a crucial role in shaping their children's behaviors and lifestyle choices. They often act as role models for their children, demonstrating the importance of physical activity, healthy eating, and self-care. By promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, mothers can help instill good fitness habits in their children from a young age.

Now, Dads…this is NOT to say your fitness and activity level is NOT important. It very much is as well! But the biggest influence you can have is to support your wife in being active. Watch the kids while she gets a workout in, do things so she can make it a priority. Your WHOLE HOUSE will benefit!

5 Fantastic Mother’s Day Recipe

Eggs Benedict: 🍳 Ingredients: 🇬🇧 English muffins 🥚 Eggs 🇨🇦 Canadian bacon or smoked salmon 🥚 Hollandaise sauce (you can make it from scratch or use a mix) Instructions:

  1. Toast the English muffins and cook the Canadian bacon or smoked salmon.

  2. Poach the eggs.

  3. Assemble by placing the Canadian bacon or smoked salmon on top of the toasted English muffins, followed by the poached eggs. Pour hollandaise sauce over the eggs.

Blueberry Pancakes: 🥞 Ingredients: Pancake mix (or make from scratch using flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, sugar, and butter) Fresh blueberries Maple syrup Instructions:

  1. Mix the pancake batter according to the instructions.

  2. Gently fold in fresh blueberries.

  3. Cook pancakes on a griddle until golden brown on both sides.

  4. Serve with maple syrup and extra blueberries on top.

Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs: 🥑🍳 Ingredients: 🍞 Bread slices Ripe avocados 🥚 Eggs Salt and pepper Optional toppings: cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, or red pepper flakes Instructions:

  1. Toast the bread slices.

  2. Mash the ripe avocados and spread them on the toasted bread.

  3. Poach the eggs and place them on top of the avocado.

  4. Season with salt and pepper, and add any optional toppings you like.

Fruit and Yogurt Parfait: 🍓🥣 Ingredients: Greek yogurt Assorted fresh fruits (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, etc.) Granola Honey Instructions:

  1. Layer Greek yogurt, sliced fruits, and granola in a glass or bowl.

  2. Drizzle honey over the top.

  3. Repeat the layers if desired.

  4. Serve chilled.

Smoked Salmon Bagels: 🥯 Ingredients: Bagels Cream cheese Smoked salmon Red onion slices Capers Fresh dill Instructions:

  1. Toast the bagels until golden brown.

  2. Spread cream cheese on each half of the bagel.

  3. Top with slices of smoked salmon, red onion, capers, and fresh dill.

  4. Serve open-faced or as a sandwich.
