Travel Clips

Southwest Airlines: Southwest Airlines launches venture capital arm, SARV, to support sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) initiatives, with an initial $30 million investment in LanzaJet, a leading SAF producer. This move aligns with Southwest's goal to replace 10% of its jet fuel with SAF by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Former Southwest president Tom Nealon heads SARV, which aims to support SAF production, including through partnerships like with LanzaJet and initiatives such as Saffire, a start-up focused on SAF technology.

Four Seasons: Opening in May as part of the Cabo Del Sol development in Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, the Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas will offer 96 hacienda-inspired accommodations alongside 61 residences, villas, and estates. Each unit will feature private terraces with retractable glass doors, and many suites will boast private plunge pools and outdoor showers. The resort will provide access to three restaurants and five bars, multiple pools, an art studio, spa, fitness center, Kids For All Seasons programming, and event facilities, making it the sixth Four Seasons hotel in Mexico and the second in Los Cabos.

Virgin Voyages: VV will cancel Resilient Lady's Australia sailings due to geopolitical tensions in the Red Sea. Instead, the ship will reposition to Puerto Rico, offering various Caribbean itineraries from San Juan. Plans for the repositioning cruise from Athens are pending, considering potential stops in Catania, Casablanca, and Tenerife. This decision follows Virgin's avoidance of the Red Sea during its Africa repositioning in March. Impacted guests have rebooking options or can receive full refunds, with priority for future Australia sailings if deemed safe. Other cruise lines have also adjusted routes due to Red Sea security concerns.

Health Tip - Sunlight!

☀️Getting 30 minutes of sun exposure can have several benefits for your health. Here are a few:

1. Vitamin D production: Sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D, which is essential for bone health, immune function, and overall well-being. Our bodies produce vitamin D when our skin is exposed to sunlight, specifically UVB rays. Anytime you can encourage your body to produce nutrients on its own (versus synthetic versions) you are better off.

2. Mood booster: Sunlight has a positive impact on our mood and mental health. It stimulates the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, sleep, and appetite. Sun exposure can help alleviate symptoms of depression and improve overall well-being.

3. Increased energy levels: Sunlight exposure can boost your energy levels and combat fatigue. It helps regulate your body's internal clock, known as the circadian rhythm, which controls sleep-wake cycles. Exposure to natural light during the day can help you feel more awake and energized.

4. Improved sleep: Sunlight exposure during the day can help regulate your sleep patterns. It helps signal to your body that it's daytime, which in turn promotes better sleep at night. Exposure to natural light can help regulate melatonin production, a hormone that helps regulate sleep.

5. Enhanced immune function: Sunlight exposure has been shown to have immune-boosting properties. Vitamin D, produced through sun exposure, plays a crucial role in supporting a healthy immune system and reducing the risk of certain infections and diseases.

Another important tip when going out to the sun: experience the sunlight without sunglasses! 😎 Allowing the sunlight to go in through the eyes signals the body to accept the benefits associated with UV light. Wearing sunglasses essentially tricks the mind into thinking it is cloudy outside. Thus, reducing the internal benefits from the sun.

So whether you’re at the office, on the go or traveling, make sure to get outside for a little bit each day. Happy travels! ☀️

Off the Beaten Path in Rishikesh, India

🧘🏼Venture Beyond the Main Attractions: While Rishikesh is famous for its main attractions like the Ganges River and numerous temples, consider exploring lesser-known areas such as the nearby villages of Neelkanth and Vashishta Gufa to experience authentic local culture and tranquility away from the crowds.

🧘🏼Seek Out Hidden Gems: Explore hidden trails and pathways that lead to secluded spots along the riverbanks or viewpoints offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding Himalayan foothills. Keep an eye out for hidden waterfalls, caves, and lesser-known temples tucked away in the hillsides.

🧘🏼Connect with Locals: Engage with the local community by participating in homestay experiences or visiting local markets and eateries frequented by residents. Strike up conversations with locals to gain insights into their way of life, traditions, and stories of the region.

🧘🏼Attend Offbeat Workshops and Classes: Look beyond traditional yoga and meditation classes and seek out unique workshops and classes offered by local artisans, healers, and practitioners. From pottery making and cooking classes to traditional music and dance workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to learn and immerse yourself in the local culture.

🧘🏼Explore Nature's Retreats: Discover hidden natural sanctuaries and retreats tucked away in the surrounding forests and hillsides. Consider embarking on nature walks, birdwatching excursions, or camping expeditions to immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Rishikesh's lesser-explored landscapes.
